I think this is pretty interesting. Guys that have kinda similar styles. Power advantage for Marciano but Heart and chin advantage for The Cinderella Man.
Personally, I see nothing similar about their styles; but for the sake of arguement, if you take Braddock when he was champ and Marciano when he was champ, Marciano wins IMO. Rock was in his prime when he won the belt and Braddock was far removed from it. Jimmy took a helluva shot, so it would go a while; and his uppercuts would give Rock fits, me thinks. But, I see Rock wearing him down and stopping him in the middle to later rounds...probably later given Jimmy's relative slickness.

I wasn't sure since I've only seen one of Braddock's fight and kinda reminded me of Marciano that's why I made this thread. I think Marcian is a bit overrated, but he's powerful no doubt about that. I can see him knocking down Jim but I don't see him winning the fight if it goes the distance. And I'm sure Braddock's chin will be there for the rest of the fight.

Braddock showed good boxing ability when he beat Max Baer, who was sloppy; but a hard puncher and an aggressor. Rock might have been awkward; but he was far more dedicated to his craft than was Baer.

So you think Marciano is a harder hitter than Baer?? If thats the case, then that's absolutely ridiculous. I agree that Baer is a sloppy fighter but so is Marciano. I actually think Baer had a better chance beating Jim than Rock.

Braddock beat baer becasue baer stopped training, and started partying and ****ing hollywood sluts, and becasue people were talking about braddock, that he was past prime, arthritic, etc. baer was a far more talented fighter than braddock and had the potiential to be a great champion, but he was too easlily distracted by fame.
anyway, braddock was a great fighter, but he does badly when up against power punchers, like joe louis or marciano. the rock's style is bad for him, braddock was a boxer who was more comfortable on the outside, marciano's swarming style destroys a boxer like him. Rocky by late stoppage, probably a TKO because braddock had so much heart the ref would stop the fight before he would give up

No, no. I think Baer hit harder; but he was never in as good of condition as Marciano....nobody ever was IMO. Rocky was all about applying pressure, cutting the ring of, cornering you, hitting anything he could and knocking you out. That's a helluva lot of pressure for an older fighter like Braddock to deal with for 15 rounds. I can't see him doing it.

100% correct. Baer had so much potential; but liked the good life too much. Rumor was he got laid in the dressing room before the fight....don't know if it's true; but that's a hell of a funny rumor.

haha are u serious? by who? Braddock's wife? Hope not cause that would ruin the movie.

LOL!!! Not Braddock's wife, no. Maxie was a good looking kid, loved the ladies, and the ladies loved him. That's the main reason, as Doc suggested, that he lost to Braddock; he was a "playa".
