Whenever you get into a discussion with anyone about boxing and mention the question 'Who was the greatest boxer ever?', everyone says Ali. Same as you mention 'Which was the best album ever recorded?' Everyone says Sgt Pepper's, The Beatles' schtick, so, The Beatles have been canonised, and so too Ali. He wasn't the greatest fighter ever, and never has been, so who was?
