Wow. What makes him a bum exactly? 5 years ago he was the undisputed 154 Champ and gave Tito his toughest fight at 22. He's only lost to 3 of the best fighters of his generation, etc, etc, whatever, how the hell can anyone consider him a bum?

FERNANDO IS A BUM BECAUSE HE FOUGHT THE BEST BUT HE LOST TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM, NOT GIVING THEM GOOD FIGHTS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW ROUNDS WITH TITO AND A FEW WITH OSCAR...BUT HE WAS BRUTALLY KNOCKED OUT IN ALL OF THEM.....
TO BE THE BEST U HAVE TO NOT ONLY FIGHT THE BEST BUT U HAVE TO BEAT THEM...

So the only fighters that can't be considered bums are those who are the best?

You mean Ronald "Winky" Wright, who was defeated by Vargas?

                exactly.

its obvious that no fighter in their prime is/was a bum.

so ya, Vargas wasnt a bum then, but look at him now, only in his late 20s and not worth a penney.
                why??
because he wanted to fight the best too early and he ruined his own career when he could have been smarter with his career choices and not rushed into big fights. Now would have to be his prime but he is all but done.

You need to check the boxing dictionary of what a bum is. I understand you want to hype your boy up but give respect to warrior like Vargas. Your guy has a long road ahead of him to get to Vargas status, if he'll even get there.

If vanes is still around, expect a possable match up between vanez and Margarito, if vanes can make it to the top.
