I was not impressed with Margarito at all.

it was his first fight that I watched and I had heard a lot of hype about him.


his foot work was horrible. punching seemed sloppy. he hops into his punches. wtf?!

He got that from Hopkins and Jones Jr., then Mora got that from Margarito.

Are you an idiot? He was only complaining about pain in his left hand. Saying Clottey would have won if it wasn't for his hand is like saying Varges would have won against Mosley if it wasn't for this badly swollen eye.

watch the fight you moron, and read some post fight interviews, clottey broke both hands.....your a serious troll, what u said, makes no sense! clottey was landing everything he threw ( even triple left hooks, LOL) and rocked him several times up untill he broke his left hand in the 4th! clottey broke his hand, which caused him to stop throwing the left hand as much, which saved margarito from getting hit with it! its simple....anyway who cares about margarito, he`s gonna lose any aganist any serious contender and every mexican/margarito fans hates to admitt it!

This is what Doug from maxboxing.com said about Margarito in his mailbag.

You note that Margarito “loops his punches, squares up when coming forward, and leans forward off balance when punching”. While I’ve never thought of or touted him as the Mexican Donald Curry in terms of his technique, I also noticed that his form was sloppier than usual vs. Clottey. I think a lot of that had to do with entering the Clottey fight with a badly sprained ankle. I notice that he didn’t have any lateral movement and couldn’t help but lift his right foot off the canvas every time he threw his right hand. It was obvious to me that he was afraid to pivot his right foot for fear of hurting and already tender ankle.

You think his punches vs. Clottey were “ineffective”. I think many of them were, but enough got through Clottey’s tight defense to not only score points but hurt the tough Ghanaian. You think he never hurt Clottey. I saw Clottey’s face up close after the fight. I saw the bloodshot eyes. I saw the way he walked hunched over because of sore ribs. I’ve been covering boxing for 11 years and I think I know when a fighter is in pain from punches he absorbed over a hard 12-round fight. But who knows? Maybe you know more about what happened in that fight than I do from watching on TV.

whats reall funni is how the entire broadcast team ( that was PRO-Margarito) were saying, " margarito`s face is bright pink right about now from the punches clottey is landing" and they said it 4 times.....LOL also the same Pro-Margarito broadcast team said, " margarito got reallly lucky this time that clottey got injured, or the fight would not be the way were seeing it now"...thats gotta be the most degrading thing ive heard from all of saturday night ( the 4 fights that i did the pbp for)....so when u talk about some guy that`s probably a margarito nuthugger like you two dirt bags, we got the whole ****ing broadcast team dissing their fighter! LLOL

The only dirt bag here is you. You sound like you get off on talking crap about Margarito. Not to long ago Cotto was said by many that he was overly hyped for going life and death with Torres, now he's somehow the best welterweight in the division, so is Margarito the only one that can't have a bad night? I know for sure that was far from Margarito's best.

If even Margarito's body punching didn't impress you than maybe you should start watching another sport.

I think you guys use the word "exposed" wayyy to much on these forums.
Clottey is a world-class fighter whose style would be best suited for a mover. Margarito isn't a mover.

It's unfortunate that Clottey had the incident with his hand as it could have been a different fight. But that's boxing. It happens.
