Antonio Margarito, how the tables have turned

So now it looks like Cotto will fight Urkal in March since he has to in order to keep his title. This means a fight with Margarito can't happen until June, which is when Cotto fights anyway. So since Cotto is fighting his mandatory, why doesn't Margarito?

The answer: Margarito sucks. He's a **** champion and a hypocrite.

That's the nicest way I can put it. Big ducking *****.

I can guarantee Margarito claims his "hand injury" (does anyone believe he really injured his hand?) will keep him out of action until the Cotto fight. Predictable.

I thought Mexican fighters were supposed to be brave. I mean very few of them have any skill, which is considered cowardly anyway in Mexican culture. Unless you take a punch to land one, you are less than a man to them. So if Margarito is a true warrior, he will fight Williams in March.

Get ready for the injury excuse in the next couple of weeks.

I'm sure it will take Margarito a good 5 months to recover from a sprained wrist...

Come on man, lay off mexican fighters, they are a huge part of the boxing equation and an important piece of this sports heritage, history and dynamic. i dont mind anyone getting on margarito at this point, but mexicans as a whole, thats wrong.

So true...to be an Aztec Warrior is to love getting punched in the face by a slick PR boxer. "Toma!" "Toma!"

And yes, Margo is nervous. He feels vulnerable after Clottey was toying with him. And yes, Margo made up his own hand issue so as to explain his performance against a man with one arm. Duck Duck duck!!!!

You could say that he wasn't very impressive last saturday (ring rust etc), but he definately didn't make the statement he should have... that's for sure

here's the thing. I highly respect guys like Morales, who DOES have a ton of skill but refuses to use it. according to Margarito's fans on this board, Mexican fighters don't have skill, just love to get in slugfests where "el mas macho" always wins. that is their stance when people say Margarito has no skill. they say skill is for ******* basically when they say Mayweather is a coward.

then you have fighters like Barrera, who are very technically sound but the guy has been running from Pacquiao for over 3 years, calling him out at all the inconvenient times and disappearing when Pacquiao is ready. so you can't say Barrera is a brave warrior because he is not.

I guess what I'm trying to point out is the hypocrisy of Mexican posters on this site. I love watching Mexicans fight, but come on, you can't have it both ways. If Mayweather ducked Margarito, then Margarito is ducking much worse right now.

in genaral this situation (mayw-ducking-marg) reminds me of the jlc-weight-chico situation

you accuse x of doing something, but then you do the same. that's life.
