How is Margarito ducking Williams if he fights a bigger, stronger, better fighter?

    How is it ducking?
    I don't get it...

He's going for a bigger challenge, a way bigger challenge...so someone explain to me how that is ducking? He's not taking the easy way, he's taking the harder and more challenging way.

Cotto >>> Williams.... at least so far...

Williams only made a name for himself by calling out Margarito and saying that he beat up Margarito in a sparring session...

    Williams hasn't done ****...

Cotto just knocked out a game Carlos Quintana who is better than Williams...

Williams was his mandatory for this fight and now is his unavoidable mandatory, if he doesn't fight him it's a duck. Cotto had an impressive fight last weekend. A very good debut, but it was only 1 fight, his 1st. I don't know if Cotto could handle Williams who has been at the weight and can take a punch. Cotto is more skilled but I don't know if he can take the shots so therefore in my eyes Cotto is no more a bigger adversary than Williams, but he does have the bigger name. If margo does forgo Williams for Cotto, i wouldn't be mad and I would understand, but that is still a duck and a clear duck!!!

Look, you can try to spin it anyway you want but the fact is that Margarito felt Paul Williams power in sparring and he doesn't want anymore of it. If Margarito felt he could beat Williams, he would have no problem fighting him...

because he said Floyd was ducking him for fighting Baldomir and De La Hoya

Margarito is pathetic, one of the most embarrassing champions I've ever seen, and his fans are morons, no offense or anything

          Margarito has 2 options:

option 1: fight a taller technical fighter that has good hand speed, never really been hurt

option 2: fight a powerful puncher, same height or smaller, that has a questionable chin, and likes to brawl

          I would pick Cotto.

How is Cotto the bigger and stronger fighter? he has moved up from Light welterweight, and Paul Williams is a natural Welterweight, this guy could probably even move to middleweight if he wanted,

I don't think he's ducking Williams... I just think he's taking the bigger fight... A la PBFloyd... But most of Margarito's fans say Floyd ducked him... If this is how you feel... Then Margy ducked the Punisher!

Either way they both are tough fights for Margarito. Ill give him props for fighting either of them.

As much as I feel Williams is due his shot at Margarito, the fact is Margarito is not a real champion, only Mayweather is; and Cotto is in the upper eschelon of 147 lbers too. So, Margarito-Cotto is only logical to determine an eventual challenger for Mayweather after he gets by old man Oscar. There are still plenty of welters out there for Williams to face to continue to sharpen his skills and if he wants the WBO trinket that bad, he can face whoever's number 2 in that sanctioning body's ranks and win the worthless piece of imitation leather while Margarito challenges for another.

Cotto-Margarito just makes more sense than Margarito-Williams.

Cotto is a better fighter and is more proven at this point than Williams. Everyone is jumping on this Williams bandwagon already, yet he hasn't really proven himself yet or fought anyone. not to say he won't be really good, but you can't say at this point he is better than Cotto. Cotto is the tougher fight, so Margarito is stepping up in competition. A win over Cotto will be more recognized than over Williams. If he beat Williams everyone will just say he was young and green. Cotto is the tougher fight.
