Bronx, New York - Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing has announced the revised card for the Friday, December 8, night of boxing at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, New York.

The new main event will feature a dangerous test for Asbury Park, New Jersey’s up-and-coming Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (12-0-1, 5 KOs), as he takes on former WBC Continental Americas, WBE Heavyweight, WBC Latino and WBE International Super Heavyweight Champion Charles Davis (17-10-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round heavyweight battle. Kevin Johnson is hardly an up and coming heavyweight. He's got a good physique, long reach, and a great jab but from what I've seen from him(ESPN FNF against Robert Hawkins) he doesn't impress me at all. He's fought limited opposition as should he at this point in his career but his ko percentage does not indicate that he has alot of power and/or is afraid to let his hands go more and mix it up.

i keep trying to tell everyone that johnathon banks is the best american heavyweight prospect.... even though he is currently fighting at cruiserweight.....

banks would KO johnson in 4 rounds or less, johnson is nothing but a showboat who is in love with his jab and gets very lazy with it at times.

banks is better than.... johnson, chambers, walker, chapman, butler etc. etc.

and banks is fighting this month on the 16th on a card with aaron pryor jr... after that he will be looking for a title shot.... and then a move to heavyweight... and then everyone on here will pretend theyve been following him all along.

i havent seen it since the live broadcast but if you can find in you should check out johnathon banks vs. eliseo castillo... you may remember castillo as the undefeated cuban who got KO'ed by klitschko a few years back...

castillo was undefeated as a heavy before the klitschko fight and has since moved down to cruiser where is he much bigger than most everyone... he dropped banks with a huge right hand in the first round and then put him down again a second time mostly from lack of balance...

anyhow, banks showed a lot of heart surviving almost 2 minutes after taking castillos best shot... he then turned the fight in the 3rd round and knocked castillo out cold with a vicious left hook in the 4th.... my favorite fight of the year so far... it was the main event fight for Tua/gutierrez on ESPN wednewsday night fights.....
