So, in essence Arum is saying that he'd like to get Margarito's mandatory with Paul Williams out of the way, but it is contingent on Margarito's hand injury. Arum is saying that if Margarito is injured, he'd prefer for Margarito to heal and then face Cotto. But I guess we'll see what the truth ends up as.

Left2body summed it up best for these morons in another thread. the better business decision for tony is to take the ****en sold out fight in MSG - make it another PR/Mexico promotion, televise how tony sodomized the last PRican he fought and rake in the cash. He'd be making an inordinate amount of money in front of a capacity venue w/ PPV upside as well. Dance partner: Cotto or Williams ...... hmmm, let me sit down for a minute to make this hard decision .....

I dont think he's ducking Williams if he goes after Cotto, I'm just raising the question. Cotto's the bigger name, more accomplished, and more attractive matchup, but I know that if Margarito goes after Cotto instead, people are going to claim that he's ducking Williams.

well of course. but De La Hoya and Baldomir were both bigger and more accomplished than Margarito and everyone claimed Mayweather was ducking Margarito. I'm just making sure Margarito doesn't get away with being a hypocrite. But of course it makes most sense to fight Cotto.
