"Nothing better than a fight between a Mexican and a Puerto Rican" - Bob Arum
Anyone offended by Arum's comment after the Margarito Fight?

I saw nothing offensive about it.
Before the whole Mexican vs. Pinoy was hit the forums, the Mexican and Puerto Ricans used to fight on here all day and night over which country had the better fighters.Comment

Which fight? (Was he talking about Clottey?) If so I was under the impression Clottey was African???
I guess I could be wrong. (Who was Arum talking about?)
What I do find offensive is a lot of these promoter guys. They act like they own boxing (and do for the most part) yet they don't work hard for it at all.
For instance, this Duva guy talking about sueing Brian Minto. I was excited to see Minto beat Schultz, and I think he has a future (along with JD Chapman from Notre Dame (I think that's right name?)) in the heavy weight division.
Some good American blood. But Duva is being an a**hole saying he got Minto everything he has. Hello, when you don't sign your fighter to an extension or pay him money for a new contract...that's called letting him seek other representation, which is exactly what he is doing.
These no good a**holes are ruining boxing, along with the alphabets (WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF) with ridiculous fees placed on boxers (how about placing them on the promoters instead). They are making it impossible to have free matchmaking and see the best fights.Comment

if that is offensive to you, then you better not leave the house. because there are kids in the first grade that will hurt your feelings with playground teasing.
i'm actually offended that this is a thread or even a thought. more so insulted and sadden, people get weaker and weaker everyday it seems...........Comment

What's offensive about it? Mexican fighters and Puerto Rican fighters always do put on a good fight becasue of their individual national pride....and the animosity, which I've never understood, that they have towards each other. It goes back to Sanchez-Gomez, if not further. That rivalry's been around a looong time.Comment

Not really, because throughout history some of the best fights have between between Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters.
Fights like Gomez-Pintor were what they were primarily because of the rabid, nationalistic following that both ethnicities have.Comment
