"From Pillar to Post" - The long road back for Lacy

Thanks a lot bro, I was one of those who thought Jeff would blow through Calzaghe, but in hindsight all I can say is WTF was I thinking? Lacy can come back, and it'd be interesting to see how he takes the criticism. He seems to see the bad press as something to abhor, rather than constructive criticism. He has nothing to prove if he's content to be viewed favorable by only himself, but his fans at large want to see him put something together.Comment

yeah, the only reason I wasnt sure about the outcome of the Calzaghe fight was only because I didnt know enough about him. All I knew was he kept getting injured and postponing the fight. When you hear about that, you cant help but think the guy is scared of Lacy. Thanks a lot bro, I was one of those who thought Jeff would blow through Calzaghe, but in hindsight all I can say is WTF was I thinking? I think a lot of it is mental with Lacy right now. He didnt look confident to me last fight, and when Tyspko adjusted, it looked like he panicked. I think he can rebound as well, but it may take time.Comment

The reality of it is is that when you become champ at 16 fights, you don't know **** about being a pro. You aren't a real pro until 25 fights, so he was rushed into a prodigious lifestyle as a fighter way too soon. He never got the chance to adapt and grow as a fighter, and now it's as if he's in a fight and has been down twice in the first round. He's beginning his trip as a professional from the bottom.yeah, the only reason I wasnt sure about the outcome of the Calzaghe fight was only because I didnt know enough about him. Gay Talese is one of my favorite writers from yesteryear. His pieces are some seriously good analytical stuff, reminiscent of early Larry Merchant. Thank you very much for the kind words.Originally posted by KaynanThat is seriously some well written work. Do you like Gay Talese at all?Comment

No doubt, fam. I see you incorporating the drama of boxing with the analytical side, and it meshes just like it supposed to. Keep that work up man, you got something there.Comment

It's always dramatic in there, I'm just speaking it from the perspective of the fan who jumps out of his seat when he sees a great landed jab executed perfectly and whose heart is in his throat when his man is in drama. I love boxing, and talking about it is my second language.Comment
