The article says that around 2,000,000 philipinos are of spanish descent, it may only be a small percentage of the overall population, but 2 million isn't exactly a small amount is it?

FistFest, nice read and reguardless of the idiots (on both sides) I have much respect for Pinoy's. What most people don't realize is that not only are Pinoy's and Mexicans related in culture but we have the same blood not only through the imigration of Phillippino's to Mexico but in the ancestory of native indians in the America's.

ALL native's came from the Bearing Strait, through what is now modern day Alaska to N. America and on down to S. America. Mexican decendants are from Asia as well as Spanish Europe. I have heard Phillippino's called the "Mexican's of the Asian world". They have the same toughness and pride in their culture that Mexican's do. Much props and cong**** on the victory in the World Cup of Boxing.
