Someone knock Joe Calzaghe out please.

Agreed. Truth be told though, there's a non-stop deluge of bull**** about nearly every boxer out there... apart from the boxers that can't catch a break.
I actually think there's a level of overcompensation from some Blow fans, cos he doesn't get near the credit he deserves. NO ONE is saying the guy has punched his way into the Hall Of Fame, but he's clearly more than just a chump, no?Comment

I don't know about that:All joking aside, I feel Calzaghe might need a bull**** fight to deflate his head a bit. It seemed to me he fought Bika thinking he was amazing. He clowned around like he was in a music video for the first half of the fight. He almost got himself in real trouble. He needs to fight a journeymen to put him back in place....have everyone doubt him, and give him something to prove again.
I watched some of Joe's fights on Showtime, way back before the Lacy fight, none were all that impressive, but when he has to step up the competition, the guy seems to go to another level.Comment

yeah, fight yet another journeyman after he spent his whole career doing just that. All joking aside, I feel Calzaghe might need a bull**** fight to deflate his head a bit. as if he doesnt have enough to prove already.Comment

Joe is good, no doubt about that, just wish he would of moved up to face Roy way back when...although, he was trying to make his legacy at 168, so fair enough, but it probably wasn't best to call Roy out, but not move up.Agreed. Truth be told though, there's a non-stop deluge of bull**** about nearly every boxer out there... apart from the boxers that can't catch a break.

For Hopkins, I think Joe really wanted the fight, but you can't blame Bernard for not wanting to move up when he ended up getting Tito, then later Oscar...even the Taylor fights made him some good cash.Comment

I didn't claim that manfredo would do anything for Joe's legacy, to be honest i'm not happy with the fight, but people on here are acting like joe is going to fight manfredo and retire. If he doesn't fight one of these three next summer then i think the harsh criticism he often receives will be warranted.
I thought Taylor beat winky aswell, some people must have thought that because winky was celebrating at the end of every round (even those he lost), he must've been getting the better of the fight.:bananaComment

I just think something if off with Joe's mental game. He had a great showing against Lacy- so he walks into the Sakio Bika fight acting like his pisses gold. Dancing and playing around, showboating, and then when he sees his own blood realizes he is not fighting a complete chump and needs to snap out of it. I don't know how to remedy his mental inconsistency but I do feel he needs to be the underdog again to win big. To need to prove something. Maybe fighting **** fighters will make people doubt him again and accord him that position.Comment

I could see why Joe wants to fight Manfredo, Manfredo is a known name, even though it really isn't that much to be honest...it could set up a fight with Taylor down the line, so will see.
For the post that said the excuse would be Taylor is "green", I actually think Taylor has more to improve...he really isn't all that great as of yet, very good, but mostly because of his natural ability, and the short time work of Steward. By the time the fight happens, if it happens, with Joe, say end of 2007, Taylor should be ready.Comment
