At that point boxing should just be abolished.

A famous British street fighter Lenny Mclean (Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels) tried and failed as well as others Viv Graham, Roy Shaw etc.

See Lenny and Roy's unlicensed bout below.

Lenny Mclean never turned pro and Roy Shaw went 10-0 in the pro ranks before getting arrested.

Correct, but the story goes that Danny McAlinden (Irish heavyweight) schooled Mclean him in an exhibition bout in London in the late 70's which put him off turning pro.

Also I have heard differing reports on Shaw, some say he turned pro others say he didn't. Do you have any evidence he turned pro? If if he did its obvious watching some of his fights that he would have been a decent boxer no more although he was obviously a hard bastard.

Viv Graham (who I knew personally through Birtley Boys Club) also claimed to have had a pro career although there is no evidence so.....
