    Margarito First Impressions

He was on the ESPN ppv I ordered a while back but I really don't remember his fight and can't find the tape. So this was the first full fight of his I've seen. Of course I've seen the highlights but everybody looks great in highlights.

Pros: Great workrate. He just keeps coming with punches and he has good chin.

Cons: Slow, slow, slow. Any decent defender could see his punches coming a mile away. They're so long and slow that reasonable defense will get you in great countering position.

And of course his defense is pretty suspect. He seems to be a little to in love with his power and his toughness that he just expects he can trade with anyone. The problem with that is when he fights top fighters they'll just outbox him all the way home.

Margarito is not a good boxer at all, his power is overrated and his chin is not as good as people make out to be. Margarito can beat some top fighters at 147 because of his size, but he will never be great!

On fear alone people have to think twice before fighting Margarito.

And then recovered with respectable wins over Rubio and then an even better win over Sechew Powell a prospect who was undefeated and highly regarded, and frankly, still is highly regarded. Again, lets not insult Ouma like that.

That big bad russian would beat margaritos ass at 154...

Or do we need to dig up daniel santos?

              Your boy is weak,

"The great floyd hope" margarito doesnt stand a chance and desrves to be where he is, begging for big fights.

you make it as if he got KOed.

The hardest thing in a fighter is to stand up and contuine the same thing as if nothing happened.

Yeah he was very unimpressive. He is too slow and his looping hooks leave him open for a big shot. Clottey exposed his weaknesses. I knew Clottey would give him a beating and he did. I thought the scoring was ridiculous. A majority of the flurries Margarito threw were pretty much blocked. An he smothered the others that he landed. I thought Clottey did a great job of covering up. I hope this isn't his last title shot. And those counter upper cuts were beautiful.

First Margarito was going up in weight. And Santos was in his homtown and Margarito was on his way to a tko if the fight was not stopped. You make it seem like every fighter that loses a fight means that he sucks, your the type that thinks when a fighter loses that theres no way he can rebound. Or maybe you just hate on Margarito so much since here you are talking **** about Margarito, but glamerizing Ouma, when Margarito hasn't lost since his lose to Santos.

Thats because I expect every fighter that is able to get up off the floor to keep on fighting, nothing new what Ouma did. Julio Gonzlaez and Winky Wright were both laid on their backs and got up to fight on, so did Jesse James Leija.
