  • What's with everyone on the Quintana bandwagon?

Seriously? What has this guy proved? He is a surpreme boxer now? That can KO Cotto? Damn i heard the same **** with Cotto vs Paulie.. Cotto Vs Branco ****...

Quintana beat a one dimensional Julio... Cotto moving up in weight will only make him more focused and stronger.

I just don't get why everyone on the bandwagon? Based on one fight?

It's because not much is known of him, Cotto's moving up and he is tall...

    Typical in boxing...

You match a fighter up with a star, then all of a sudden that opponent may be made to be something great or special...

    OR

a fighter calls out a big name and all of a sudden he becomes a major contender...

    OR

a fighter is simply tall with a nickname "The Punisher" and all of a sudden he is a top 3 threat...

    it happens...

but I think a lot of it is because Quintana is undefeated, a southpaw, a natural WW, tall, has a decent KO ratio, Cotto's chin is shakey and he's otto's opponent

Undefeated, Ive been thinking the same thing as you. In the Julio fight I saw a guy, who while moves well and has a good jab, leaves himself open too much and stands with his legs too far apart. Cotto should be able to KO him.

And Tyrant, you're abosolutely right. That's why it happens. Networks always hype up the unkown fighter or underdog who's fighting the star just to sell the fight (see Floyd vs. Baldomir), and talk about their differences. In PBF and Baldy's case it was how PBF was a stuck up rich ****er whos been #1 and born into boxing, and Baldy was a dirt-poor Cinderella Man. Here it's the cat with the superb boxing skills against the power puncher. Such bull****, and ****** fans eat it up.

However, Undefeated, you have PBF on your sig, and I remember you said you thought Baldy would knock him out. You fell for the hype then, at least not know. That's good.

Haha.. Yea.. Cause i accually thought Baldy could land one good shot.. There's something about that man. Even thought he didn't get pulverized by PBF.. You know.. Plus Baldy beat 2 good fighters so you know.. That's reasonable... But Quintana? Beat a Hyped Julio? Who hasn't fought anyone. You know what i mean?

But about todays fight. Quintana isn't much taller than Cotto, and on top of that Quintana does like to have his legs far apart so he is giving up alot of height. Cotto will KO him in 7 rounds. Mark my words.

            Definitely.

I don't about 7th though, it's possible, Cotto IS a monster hitter, and he says he's back to 2002-2004 form because of the weight, so yeah, it's possible, but I ain't too sure though. I still Cotto will KO him, I'm just unsure if it will be that early.

P.S. What part of PR are you from

I think people just think that Cotto is gonna struggle with the weight leap, his own chin, and quintanas style.

I wouldnt say to many people are actually ON the quintana bandwagon yet

When i go to PR for vacation.. Which is every year i stay at Ponce and Cabo Rojo.... That's where i be at most of the time.

I know that Quintana is going to taste that power. Either they boxing for 12 rounds Quintana is somewhat going to touch the canvas. He is not ready. He is a natural WW but still. To Cotto this isn't his 1st time up there.
