    Moorer Aiming For Holyfield Trilogy

Heavyweight fighters are returing from retirement by the bus load. In the latest return to the heavyweight division, former two-time heavyweight champion Michael Moorer comes back to the ring on December 9 against Cliff Couser in Hollywood, Florida. Moorer has not fought since he knocked out Vassily Jirov in April of 2004. [details]

Not a bad fight for Holyfield to take right now while he waits around for one of the four beltholders to give him a shot. Moorer lost to Eliceo Castillo and damn near to Vassiliy Jirov (had he won a round prior to the KO?), but he's still a name, it's still probably a PPV, and it's less dangerous than the Oquendo fight - he can buy more time having decisioned Fres this way and keep his name in the spotlight.

I agree completely. Holyfield should stay busy while he waits for a title shot and fighting and hopefully beating Moorer, would keep him sharp and help his confidence. I'm speculating that Holyfield will get a shot at Valuev's belt sometime next year because the fight card IMO would sell out any arena and might be able to do ppv. Also, Valuev's opponents since he's been with King have been pretty handpicked so that Valuev can reach Marciano's record via the easiest path there.
