Golden Boy Impressed With Jimrex Jaca

Golden Boy Promotions vice president and international matchmaker Eric Gomez said yesterday that both he and Oscar De La Hoya were very impressed with the showing of southpaw Jimrex who fought gallantly against WBO champion Juan Manuel Marquez before being knocked out in the ninth round in Hidalgo, Texas last Sunday.

Jaca put on a performance that would beat most opponents, and that should impress anybody. There is no shame in losing to a superstar like Marquez.

JMM should only be fighting world class opponents. Jaca still has a lot to learn. He should stay in the US and fight here. No other place will get you better experience.

It maybe becuase JMM is more willing to trade rather than wait and counter. The old JMM would not have been hit as much as he was last weekend.

JMM should clear out the 126 division before moving up to 130. He can do that in 8 months.

Exactly. Jaca was good, but if Marquez hadn't arrived looking to trade shots, Jaca would have been chasing shadows all night - and getting hit by them a copious amount of times.

Really? OK I'm so impressed with Jaca...he hits pretty good and is very precise with his punching.
