    $$$$$$$$ really talks...

and makes you do somewhat "******" things...twice.

and so this is the reason manny pacquiao signed with top rank, tried to return golden boy's signing bonus and didnt care about any litigation or dramatic lawsuits. or the risk of him being a "frozen delight."

yes of course...for more $$$$$$$$. why not? but still not a smart move signing with golden boy last september. he should have just waited after his fight with erik morales. oh well...

    a.) $800,000 signing bonus.

b.) minimum purse of $3 million for every fight. (and can be higher depends if the fight is a mega blockbuster w/ a name opponent)

c.) manny's own company gets to share in the fight profits

d.) higher percentage in ppv profits

e.) exclusive tv broadcast rights for his fights. (just imagine the moolah he can get with the tv rights, cable and closed circuit in the philippines and possibly in nearby asian nations)

all this plus his numerous endorsements in his country. and from what i heard from the rumorville, the NIKE deal was bigger than the san miguel corporation lifetime contract he signed.

heres the link of the article : http://www.boxing2006.com/BoxingExclusive.com/index.htm

and i think the article is fairly accurate as this is almost the same thing i heard from the g****vine.

but anyway i think the article (and the rumors im hearing) is a little unfair to golden boy and oscar. so lets just wait for any official statement from gbp and oscar before passing judgement. better yet, wait for the decision of the courts.

but from the article gbp seemed really sneaky. i heard something like manny was drunk when he signed the contract. i doubt if its true tho. bob arum's tentacles is so long it reaches some people here in the philippines.

      yeah i agree...

but the other thing is...arum really wants to stage a fight in macau with manny and edwin valero. that is a more dangerous fight, in my opinion. valero is a huge 130lber and he can really clock. and he's fearless too. so thats a dangerous fight. more like "high risk/low reward".

but as a boxing fan, i would definitely love to see it!

but more likely, after all this clears out...the macau fight would probably be against the new ibf 130lb champ or against alex arthur from the UK. i think he is the european champion if im not mistaken.
