Antonio Margarito disses Floyd Mayweather Jr
In a recent conference to help hype SHOWTIME's Dec. 2 card that features Antonio Margarito (33-4, 1 NC, 24 KOs) defending his WBO welterweight title against WBO No. 5 contender Joshua Clottey (30-1, 1 NC, 20 KOs), Margarito was asked for his impression of Floyd Mayweather Jr's most recent victory over Carlos Baldomir.
Margarito dissed Mayweather for not wanting to fight and fighting a guy who was too old and past his prime.
Margarito was asked at the conference was what was his impression of the Mayweather-Baldimir fight?
Margarito responded with: "It just showed that Floyd is very smart by fighting a guy that is too old, a guy that is past his prime, a guy that was not going to do anything to him. Floyd did not want to fight anyway, so he just boxed around him. Baldimir did not have the tools to chase him and bring him down, and I think that was a smart choice to make for him if he did not want to lose a fight."
Sorry Margarito, Oscar is a better fighter than you now. People would rather see him than you. Beat Clottey and a top contender and have some quality wins to back up your talk.
