Cocoran vs. Hughes last night

anyone watch this on sky lasy night?

absoloutly cracking fight - 2 fellas just throwing leather every round.. both were hurt several times, both hit the canvas..

going into the last round i had hughes up 3 rounds.. the round before he hit cocoran with a 33 punch unanswered flurry!

shame the ref stopped it in favour of cocoran after he landed like 3 punches.. think that last round wouldve been awesome if it could have gone on longer.. but maybe the ref was scared to make a decision, he was the only one judging the fight..

i felt for hughes afterwards.. poor guy.. his trainer said theres no point complaining,.... shame...

did any1 else watch it? seriously it was one of the best fights ive seen

I thought it looked very amateurish, but it was a good little scrap, I was annoyed with the outcome though.

saw tha replay of the fight today. proper ****in robbery. if anything, the ref should have stopped the fight in the previous round when corcoran was getting punched at will.

if you compared the two boxers at the end of the fight, hughes actually made sense. corcoran didn't.

Did they say the ref only had Hughes up by a round going into the last? How did he figure that?

refs always seem to score fights more closely than ringside judges..like that fewkes - haywood fight on sky a few weeks ago only had fewkes winning by 1 point....although this one was much much worse.

But for the same ref to not only favour the home fighter AND stop it premature.

Here's a question... what do you think would have happened if it wasn't stopped?

For me, that was a solid punch, right on the button and Hughes was gone. I believe that he wouldn't have survived. But he had the right to prove it.
