    Let' see:

Genero Hernandez = 10x better than anyone Cotto has fought.
Zab Judah = Better than anyone Cotto has fought
Diego Corrales = 5x Better than anyone Cotto has fought
Jose Luis Castillo = 5x Better than anyone Cotto has fought
Jesus Chavez = Better than anyone Cotto has fought
Arturo Gatti = Better than anyone Cotto has fought
Hell, I'd go as far to say Baldy was better than anyone Cotto has fought
and Oscar will be better than anyone Cotto has fought.

I dissagree with this post.. We will see when Cotto reached 37 fights, and then compare. Cotto is fighting contenders that are out there right now. I wonder who he fights after Quintana.

cotto--> Abdullah could be a world champion
Pinto- could have being a world champion
Torres-> is a world champion now

I think that when you are young and talented and have not gotten paid the way you have that you are hungrier to be recognize by the fans and the sports writers. But when you’re already a veteran and being in the spot light before and have money in the bank when it gets tuff in there it will be easier to give up. Hey I don't need this anymore

This is just my opinion tell me your opinion on this
        No man he hasn't...

I like Cotto, but he hasn't fought who Mayweather has. He only has like 26 or 27 fights right now. I wouldn't compare them.

why alway people remeber castillo won the fight first time but forget the second time. is kinda weird because Castillo couldnt back up what he did. and mayweather had a broken arm.

and corrales going to some personal problems, who doesnt have personal problem they are pro. looko down and compare it.

people alway try to discredit mayweather because he is the best at what he does

Big Cotto fan here, but he hasn't fought any live champs like Floyd did over 3 years ago, he has faced solid competition as Floyd is doing now, he has also faced fighters who have beat him in the amateurs once or twice and fighters who most critics believed would beat him. At 147 is time to find out what he's all about, if he gets pass Quintana and Urkal, they should aim at Cintron or Margarito. If Arum doesn't agree with that he should find himself a new promoter, he's been ready for big fights.

You could argue Cotto is on pace to fight better competition, since he is fighting better lower-tier competition, but like deliveryman pointed out, the top guys on Mayweather's resume are much better than those on Cotto's.

To surpass Mayweather's resume, Cotto, after Quintana, would have to fight Margarito, Williams, Mosley (unlikely), someone like Julio and/or Berto if they keep winning impressively, and then some. It's really not even that close.

Now that you say that, I was surprised when Mosley said in an interview on BT that he would like to fight Cotto...That would be one great fight..

Cotto has fought some nice fighters...solid guys who have given him different looks and styles and such. He hasn't fought anyone in the class of a Jose Luis Castillo or Diego Corrales however. Mayweathers work at 130 and 135 is better than anything Cotto has done so far.
