What was the last HW Unification bout?

When was the last time two HWs, each with one of the 3 or 4 major titles battled it out?

Unless I am missing something, Lewis/Holyfield is the last I can remember.

yeah that's what I thought...kind of sad that the last HW unification bought regardless of how many titles involved was like seven years ago

Hopefully Wlad vs Valuev happens next year

Only 2 fighters in the last 30 years, were actually the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. Muhammad Ali, and Mike Tyson. Lewis did hold all the belts for his 2 fights with Holyfield. He was either stripped of the WBA title or gave it up, after the Holy fight. Tyson was the UDHWC from 1987 to 1990. Holyfield held it briefly in 1992 for 2 fights. Ali held it from 1964 to 1967, 9 title defenses. 1974 to 1978 10 title defenses. Tyson had 6 title defenses as UDHWC.

The fight against Bert Cooper didn't include the WBC belt for some reason.
Same thing with the Michael Moorer fights. He was however the Linear HWC. Lennox Lewis is still the True Linear HW Champion. So we may never have a true champ again. The chain has been broken. But when Rocky Marciano retired at 49-0 he broke the chain. Hell I dunno. I guess there hasn't been a linear champ for a long time.

It's been broke a few more times then that . James J. Jeffries and Gene Tunny also broke the link although Jeffries came back to fight Jack Johnson which set it back in place . The funny part about this is that all the champions between the two were given the linear title yet Johnson only was given credit after the Jeffries fight . Vitali is the last linear champion .
