Eubank vs. Roy Jones. Head to head, both men at his very best.

I would say Jones exploites Eubanks wealness to body shots.

Difficult to say because Eubank at his very best was only against dead meat, like Les Wisniewski, Ron Malek, Jean-Noel Camara and Denys Cronin, on Eurosport. He did look awesome in these fights, his usage of the ring, his baffling variety of angles and bewildering speed, his concentration, composure and pinpoint accuracy.. genuine poetry in motion and didn't look beatable! But unproven because it was only against dead meat.

''Slapping hasn't been Calzaghe's problem, but getting defining fights have. What a terrible fight he's taking next.

Geoff, as a boxer, would you consider yourself 'dead meat'?

In Nov '89, Eubank was shown a Nigel Benn newspaper taunt of I'm Gonna Get Eu (Benn had been speaking from the Fifth Street Gym in Miami), this was at the Matchroom Gym in Romford and he was asked for his response to that and said "I'm quite simply the best". The next day, there was a newspaper headline of I'm Quite Simply The Best, directed towards Nigel Benn.

Then Barry Hearn's wife decided to make Tina Turner's 'The Best' song Eubank's theme tune for his next fight - Jose Da Silva in Liverpool, to be screened on ITV.

Geoff, have you ever met Eubank yourself yet? What kind of impression did he leave? Does he really give off an eccentric vibe in person?

                    No.

Maybe it was only Eubank making them look dead meat, though. Johnny Melfah was a two-time ABA finalist (only losing to Rod Douglas and Nigel Benn), and a very competent pro. Denys Cronin carried a nice dig, and was a former ABA champion. Etc.

                      I haven't. And what's with the 'yet'?

I don't plan to meet him.
