If Floyd sat in one division, people would just ***** at him for not moving up. You can never make the haters happy...
I'd Hate To See Floyd Fall Victim!

agreed there
the credit Floyd does NOT get, for what he did in the past is even more ridiculous than his claims to be able to beat Leonard.
I am reading posts about pac stopping mayweather...
and yes, people will not give him any slack when he loses. they will forget he was a natural 130er.Comment

Good Post DLT.PART 2
I made this thread because I'd hate to see Floyd fall victim to his weight. Floyd is by far the most hated man in the game and hes actually starting to get to the verge of being the most hated man in the sport ever, which means that no one is going to be objective and cut him any breaks. Trust me when I say that you wont hear many stories about the weight it Floyd loses. It will be, "see, I told you he was overrated and not that good". Guys are waiting for Floyd to lose so they can jump all over him and the sad part is that as much as they want him to lose, that at 140 on down there is nothing they can do about it but at these higher weights its very possible and it would be a sad way to go out.
With all that being said, I still really like to see Floyd at 147 for those very reasons. He'll dominate below that weight and most guys at 147 but I would love to see him in super tough fights with Oscar, Shane, or Margarito. It would just be cool to see but I honestly dont want to see it at 154. I also hope that if and maybe when he finally does lose, I hope people dont say that this kid was a overrated fluke just because they hated him so much and prayed for his downfall. The facts are that Floyd will soon be 30 and we have all been privlaged to see a truly wonderful fighter who was raised in the sport and born to do this. You wont see that much more and he should be appreciated for that. A guy who is almost like SRR in fighting these big guys and running huge risk. Sometimes I just wished he wouldve stayed at 135 -140, dominated forever & cleaned up all these high profile names that mostly wouldve surely ducked him.
As of now my path for him would be to fight Oscar and if he wins then drop straight back down and fight Shane & Margarito back to back in any order. The bad part about the Oscar fight is that its at 154 but the good part is that he will be straight back down after that and I actually think that one fight at 154 will help him at 147 because he will feel light when he gets back to 147 and he will have filled in alot by then and be even harder to beat and may start to look as good at 147 as he did at 140. Then after that maybe he can get the young guys in Hatton, Cotto, Williams, and then ride off into the sunset. Anything else would almost be unfair to the guy because he will surely get crucified for any lossComment

Dont overlook him. He has a very hard style and is a very tough fighter. P4P Floyd is definatly better and if Margarito was the same exact guy but just a big 140 pounder and Floyd was at 140 then Floyd would win fairly easy but at 147 its different. I still like Floyd and Floyd maybe could kill him but I also wouldnt be shocked if he gave Floyd hell. Physically he's a monster and mentally he believes he can KO King KongComment

Ive heard some things about Cotto-Margarito also but there is no way in hell that fight happeneds and you know it. Arum is not that crazy. Now I could definatly see Cotto-Cintron but no way he throws him in with Margarito unless he absolutley has to or if he's desperate. He'll get Cotto the Mayweather fight before he gives him a Margarito fightComment

Arum wont put Cotto with Margarito for one simple reason. Arum is losing creadbility on his fighter and putting this fight it means he is going to lose one of his guys and lose there credbility for bringing him money.Ive heard some things about Cotto-Margarito also but there is no way in hell that fight happeneds and you know it. Arum is not that crazy. Now I could definatly see Cotto-Cintron but no way he throws him in with Margarito unless he absolutley has to or if he's desperate. Cotto is very loyal to Top Rank and Margarito is basicly is thankfully for top rank so i dont think they will call each other out.
in the pther hand Cintron improve dramstily when manny steward to control and he heself think that he is not ready for Margarito.Comment

great post dlt. you hit the nail on the head with this one man. props to you.Its long but a must read!
To me, Floyd is far and away the best P4P boxer out there but I just hate to see him fighting these huge guys. Ill say it again, he doesnt get nearly enough credit for fighting these guys who are obviously so much bigger & stronger then him. He doesnt get any credit at all for that. None of the writers talk about it. Then you add that to the fact that not only is he fighting huge guys, but he's doing it at the same time while he's declining in all of his attributes because the extra weight is making him slow down.
Floyd had good size at 130 but thats it. In every other fight he looks like the much smaller man. He's even got a small frame anyway. If he stood beside someone who was the same size as him, he would look smaller. It just upsets me because if you look back at his N'Dou fight, he couldve did that for years. Everyone clowns what he's done lately but imagine if he really didnt take risk. Everyone sweats guys like Hopkins who dominated a division forever & even somewhat Tszyu. You think Floyd couldnt do what Hopkins did? and he wouldve did it against much better comp.
Floyd could be still at 135 right now and who wouldve ever beat him? He'd be killing Diaz and all those boys. He could wait for guys to move up like Hopkins did and kill Pac, Morales, MAB, JMM, Valero, Guzman, & Rocky. None of those guys would have a chance with Floyd so then what? He could retire with one of the best resume's ever but never took any real risk because he was bigger then those guys. He'd be P4P #1 on everyone's list.
Then Floyd moved up to 140 and thats where I wish he was still at. Just look at the Gatti fight and look at Floyd's body. He was so fit & toned. Everything looked so natural. He couldve been one of the best 140 pounders ever, if not the best. If anyone thinks Harris, Hatton or Cotto had a real chance then there crazy. Guys can be bigger then him at that weight but he was still really strong and had nice pop, not to mention blazing speed. From 140 on down no one and I mean no one even sniffs Floyd's jock. He wouldve been a All Time Great if he stayed there and no one could argue against it. He was damn near perfect.
Now he goes to 147 and thats when things get tricky. I have always believed that Floyd is the best from 154 on down but once you get to 147 then it gets tricky and once you get to 154 then it gets downright scary. These guys are big and Floyd isnt. He is also slower & because of the weight, he cant throw combos like he does at the lower weights. I still say that physically Baldy gave him alot of problems. Even with the huge disadvantage at weight, I'd still pick him over anyone at 147. Margarito scares me and Oscar & Shane somewhat scare me but I would feel confident in all of them but at the same time he might have to go through hell to beat all of them. At 154 I get scared of nearly all the guys and though I wouldnt pick it, I wouldnt be surprised if he lost to Winky, Oscar, Karmazin, Quartey, Ouma, Forrest, and probally more.Comment
