    QUOTE]

    Are you kidding me?

Rid**** Bowe, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman....all those great HW Fights we have had from those guys, Tyson was Unified and so was Holyfield and Lewis, the last REAL champion we have had is Lennox Lewis
You are right. I should have said the HW division is the best it has been in 7-8 years.

Mike Tyson is from the 80s. George was great in 70s -- he lucky punched Moorer and became a champion. Lewis is unquestionably the best HW in the last 15 years.

However, the HW division now is very good and has a lot of depth and many, many talented fighters:

    Wlad
    Lamon
    Briggs
    Sergei
    Oleg
    Toney
    Sultan
    Sam Peter
    Chagaev
    Povetkin
    Dimitrenko

thats weird. everyone wants to see a unification to see the who the real champ is by beating the other champs, there should be only 1 champion and thats the point of unifying so the champion cant be compared to any other abc title holder...donking is killing the sport..you do fight the best comp in most cases when you face other title holders, there was a reason they won the title in the first place, its simple and most people know it, a unification must happen.

        Povetkin
        Dimitrenko
Lamon may not fight because of his eye
Sergei got beaten by someone like Briggs
Sultan got a draw against Ibragimov and I think will lose to Briggs
Toney is too old right now, almost 40 and really fat out of shape
Oleg we know is trying to cash in for his next bout, he will get beat Wlad, Valuev and even briggs can beat him.

        decent contenders:

        Samuel Peter
        Chagaev

        decent prospects are:

        povetkin
        dimitrenko
        virchris

lets see what happens...hope there is some kind of fighter out there!

It is not just Don; sanctioning bodies are also responsible -- they are not interested in unifying. Neither are HBO or Showtime, or so it seems

Perhaps, the Ring belt could take the lead role in this, but they do not seem want to do this.

What do you think of the current HW division? your the first person who seems to like it, Other than Wlad who else is in the HW division and why do you think its special? sure it could get better over the years, but im talking about the current state of it, I know you dont like that but that is my opinion...and an unbiased one too...unlike some people ofcourse.
don't get me wrong, man, i don't think there's a huge pool of talent right now. nor are there the best current fighters fighting eachother much. but it is starting to get interesting.

peter vs toney is an intreaguing match up to me - an expert boxing tacticion vs a wild heavy handed slugger. it's a classic match up.

klitschko seeking to unify - hopefully he is able to get a title fight from one of the other guys if the deal with maskaev falls through.

valuev. that guy's a ****ing giant. the tallest heavyweight champ in history i'd bet. how long can he stay undefeated. valuev vs sam peter or wladimir klitschko sounds nice. valuev vs toney would be a really, really crazy looking fight.

i think it's just starting to get good. it has sort of been in a slump ever since vitali retired(the last great champ in my opnion). wladimir, hopefully, gets to dominating like lewis did. good things to come.

Interesting Matchups, and yeah i can see where you coming from, but the current state is we have champions like Maskaev and Briggs...which shows how weak this era is. Some people...actually a lot of people underestimate Valuev, I think he can keep winning with his style, the guy is 7ft tall and the heaviest, yet his stamina is like a bull. he has power chin and stamina...which is what is needed right now in the HW division
