    very interesting. if he had a fever, and i have no reason to disbelieve it, that does sort of make that 2nd round knockout of erik even more impressive.

    it's kind of scary that pacquiao took him out early because he wanted to. he and roach might want to consider that as a strategy more often.

      As weird as it sounds, I heard that too and was just wondering if I was hearing things at the time. He did infact have a fever during the fight.

        The bad thing about this is that Pac cannot make an excuse about being sick in his future fights......LOL!

          Pacquiao attends victory party despite flu

          Fans and supporters of Filipino boxing sensation Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao were thrilled to see their idol attend his victory party despite suffering from a bout of the flu and tonsillitis, ABS-CBN's Bandila reported Friday.
          The report said that Pacquaio graced the event at the Rajah Sulayman Park in Malate, Manila, Friday night.

          Pacquiao sang two songs and delivered his message to hundreds of fans, some of whom came all the way from the provinces just to get a glimpse of their idol, before returning to the Manila Hotel where he and his family are billeted.

          "Kahit wala po tayong pera basta’t tayo ay nagmamahalan, masaya na po tayong lahat (Even if we don’t have money as long as we love each other, we will be happy)," Pacquiao said.

          The event, hosted by Edu Manzano, Sunshine Cruz and Heart Evangelista, was also graced by Rachel Ann Go, KC Montero, JR, Francis M. and Andrew E., among other performers.

          Actor-singer Jericho Rosales’ band also played during the party. Rosales had portrayed Pacquiao's role in a movie based on the boxer's life, which was shown some months ago.

          Pacquiao arrived in Manila Friday morning from Los Angeles, California with his wife Jinky.

          The couple went straight to their hotel to rest after arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Pacquiao still managed to play with his two sons before going to the Quiapo Church at 8 a.m for a thanksgiving Mass.


          From Quiapo, Pacquiao went to the Manila City Hall for a news conference and then proceeded to Malacañan to meet with President Arroyo.

          A motorcade followed at 10 a.m. and lasted for four hours. The boxing champ returned to his hotel to rest for the victory party in Malate.
