  • Boxing Ontario vs. OBA Canadian Post

Hey i am a member of Boxing Ontario (athlete). I do not understand the point of the OBA. They are not going to go to the Olympics or any other big tournaments. And the OBA cant go to the Nationals. Does anyone of the OBA or Boxing Ontario have anything to say about this?

lol. Are u saying that the OBA is gay? Oh and you are right, only some are bad judges (there is only one judge who is biased towards me and i cant seem to beat Mcgrory's. And i was wondering what gym you were from.

Blands boxing...well, I don't mind oba but as of right now they do not have provincials so it really sucks and I wanted to go to the ontarios earlier this month..

so basically it sounds like you can't beat the judges

same here, back in November, I fought mike strange's kid joey minty and easily won the fight yet it ended up being 19-18 for him.

I think eventually the OBA could possibly take over in place of Boxing Ontario and I'll tell you why...The OBA has a fair scoring system and good officials,(giving better quality decisions then what some of the past Boxing Ontario decisions have been), and it's actually refreshing to know the kid who fights the better fight in the OBA actually wins. And you can still fight against Boxing Ontario or any other licensed clubs from anywhere in the world under the OBA Rules. As well you can then fight your next fight for an Olympic spot if you are that good, (don't think if you are the best fighter in Ontario that, because you fight in OBA sanctioned events you couldn't then go qualify for the Olympics. Although again, I would like to see the proper fighter win the opportunity to then fight for a National Championship and eventually represent Canada, which is not always what happens in Boxing Ontario competitions, according to what many on BS seem to already agree. So to me the Ontario Boxing Association or OBA which was actually around many years ago to sanction fights (mainly based out of Toronto back when it was a boxing hotspot), makes perfect sense when you wanna have good clean fights again...
