Japanese boxers on the whole seem to have insane conditioning so I'm wondering if there is any emohasis on particular exercises in Japan. Are they like Mexico, where they run and spar non stop or are there any other methods which differ from western counterparts?

Japanese style of training

From what I've seen and have been told the Japanese love unconventional training methods like mentioned above. Their workouts are similar to the kettlebell vs dumbell discussion...what equates the most to "real" strength and what is the most effective way to incorporate that into training? Except instead of using standard equipment they do what they've done since forever.
With sports science where it is now though most fighters are doing a lot of similar training for the same effect, but using modern methods. With enough drive and repetition I wouldn't say any particular region has any specific advantages over another.
Japanese fighters just tend to work harder because fight culture is huge in Japan. They're well respected athletes that become household names...whereas find a casual fan who knows who Ward is. If you work your ass off for no recognition you can see how easily laziness can come through.
