  • It was evident from Saturday night's programme that Froch has taken on board and implemented the techniques and strategies that his sports psychologist has discussed with him. You have to commend him on that, he looked like a different man to the one we've become accustomed to seeing lately.

If you're rooting for him you can take encouragement that he's no longer putting himself at the disadvantage of losing his composure in the presence of his opponent.

What has been interesting during this whole build-up is the number of fans from either side whose views are so filtered by what they want to happen that they out-right refuse to see what is actually happening.

I'm predicting Groves by stoppage, and I've put money on it, so there's a vested interest on my part but how anyone can see what happened when they faced off there as beneficial to Groves is hard to fathom. The only thing that you can take from that, and this is reaching, is that Groves was angered, and just maybe that will make him more spiteful on the night.

Other than clutching at that pretty long straw, what we can take from last nights viewing is that Froch has now proved to himself that he's mentally ready for this fight. He's a top class competitor. Anyone who expected him to roll over without upping his game has allowed themselves to become blinkered.

    • You guys that think Froch will steamroll Groves don't know **** about boxing

The kid was spanking the man for a solid 6 rounds, 1 assault barrage and all of a sudden the almighty conquering king Froch is back.

Hope for your sake your money aren't going where ya'll mouth is.

The kid will box cleverly this time around.

Groves is still very young and has a lot to learn about life. His arrogance came back to bite him in the ass this time. It worked at first but now he is gonna have to take a step back and analyse the situation if he wants to find any success in the mind games.....its too late though cos he aint gonna get under Froch's skin now.
i agree with everything up until the very last part.

dont get me wrong, i too find it unlikely groves will manage to get under frochs skin at this stage but its not impossible imo. a lot of fighters get edgy around fight week, froch usually doesnt which is why i think he will be able to remain in control of his emotions. but it would surprise me if groves wont pull some more stunts during fight week, i honestly dont know where this kids boundaries are and he might cross a line that would make anyone agitated.

either way im excited about everything connected to this fight, going to follow the build up very closely.

Its not about claiming Froch will steamroll Groves based on physical ability alone. Its about Man vs Boy. Groves absolutely has the physical attributes to defeat Froch and that was never in doubt after what happened in the first fight.....but I don't think he can handle the heat when big shots are flying in both directions. When it was one directional Groves had a million big shots and couldnt finish Froch. Whats gonna happen if Froch starts off strongly this time? Froch now has full respect for his opponents abilities and I believe he will put his weight behind his punches when it counts this time instead of jumping into punches like a lunatic.

Yep anything is possible and Groves could indeed take things to another level....but at this stage I cant see him coming up with anything other than something laughable or juvenile. I'd like to see him try though cos its fun watching him make an absolute tit of himself on TV

lol i cant say i dont agree with that. always annoyed me how he keeps his mouth open and just gazes into space, he looks mentally ******ed for real. i really enjoyed watching that same look except with added befuddlement during the face off with froch.

It was hilarious. It was as if Groves was witnessing dancing aliens jumping around in is brain shooting at each other with lazer beams. He completely went into cloud cuckoo land if you ask me(someone needs to make a YT video of his reaction with some mad twilight zone music in the background). Funny as ****. All Froch did was start engaging with him like a normal human being and Groves just couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

                  Good post!

I can see why you have put your money on Groves, That's what the mind says! Because if you stand back and look at the bigger picture Groves has every attribute to win this fight. Hit and move basically I can only say who I would like to win, And that would be Froch. Am I totally confident that he can win? Not really!! I watch the Taylor, Dirrel, Ward fights last night back to back and it's frightening I wish I hadn't to be honest

Is it possible that Groves coming off worse on Ringside,Facebook, And now The Gloves are off will mentally play a part!? To be more spiteful will mean more Energy burnt. When you actually see how many times Froch hit Groves I'm surprised how much damage was done to his face..

What I would like to see from Froch because he fights with his hands down low is to bring his right hand up and be placed on his left cheek, So if he can't evade the right at least he can protect himself, And still throw the Jab..

I would be upset with an upset for sure!

                  • Froch believed his own hype.
Groves called him out on it.

Froch went into the first fight with zero respect for Groves..

Now groves believes his own hype and I suspect Froch is going to call him out on it

Groves is going into this fight with Zero respect for Froch.

The difference is Groves fired his whole salvo at Froch and Froch took it.. As soon as Froch started firing back Groves could not take it.
Was the stoppage premature? Yes, but not as unreasonable as some people are making it out to be.

Froch had trouble with Groves's speed.. Groves had trouble with Froch's power.
Adjusting to speed is less a hill to climb than adjusting to power.

If Froch improves just 20% Groves will get KO'd.
I am betting Froch can improve 20% on his performance. I am not sure what else Groves can do.

Groves needs to improve his stamina, And hit and move I am thinking! If he doesn't improve on his stamina I think Foch will catch up to him at some point!
