Why do Sky only work with one promoter at a time?

I would love to know what the BT Sport execs think about the fight business and whether they're inclined to make some kind of serious move..... with their depth of funding they could do an exclusive with Hatton or Hennessey pretty quickly and easily and get some good fights and fighters very quickly.

I watch their rugby coverage and for a new-ish channel it is already very good indeed; hard to explain things, but it feels like you've got the BBC and it is far less formulaic than Sky's coverage.

Barney Francis and Adam Smith (thankfully both boxing fans as well as key decision-makers at Sky) have both hinted in the past that they liked the model of one strong promoter, one long-term contract and with a clear number of fights to be delivered and when they wanted them shown. In short, Hearn works for Sky and has deadlines and fights to make.

What they thoroughly disliked was the time it took to bring fights together with other promoters involved and two-way negotiations. I think Francis has mentioned that they felt that they were becoming the match-makers and they neither had the time or inclination to do this.

Cheers mate! I suppose it makes sense to have the promotional side of things as smooth as possible. Would love to see a few more cross-promotional fights taking place though.

Is it just me or are skysports a little bit on the ropes?.

No offence but i don't buy Sky to watch Championship and Irish league games. There is also a lot of other garbage on like bowling and sailing.

BT is building quite a good portfolio and making me question for the first time in years about leaving Sky.

Sky have basically controlled British sports using the Premier league and other football competitions. If BT keep taking games from I can see them catching up quickly.

I cant believe BT got ALL the CL games.
