Think he was 17, but there's plenty of old timers who lied about their age to get into the paid ranks..

    that's not true at all.

that's when he won a world championship at 140.

if holyfield gets a fight (and i think he tries as hard as he can, constantly,) then he'll beat mccall out.

who is mccall fighting? that's just sad.

Ray Acquaye of Ghana turned pro almost 30 years ago in 1984. He was knocked 15 days ago on March 28 of this year.

Honestly thought he was ( got muddled with youngest champ) thankyou for correcting me..

Must have turned pro at 15 then..

Old time champs, Georges Carpentier, Battling Nelson and Teddy Baldock, are all on various lists as being even younger at 14. And more recently, former on-off feather champ, Manuel Medina

              Edit: Sorry, I mean 1929-61.

Wiki is saying different from boxrec. But if boxrec is right then hes fought in 5 decades. The only other guy I know of that has is Duran.

Foreman would have if he had his second comeback in his 50s but he said his wife didnt want him to. He lost a ton of weight though. Forget which HBO broadcast it was (after he stopped announcing) they showed him and he was slim so he was serious about it.

I did actually mean who turned pro the longest time ago out of current fights - and who had the longest pro career overall.

I'm sure many fighters have turned pro at young ages. 13 wouldn't be such a shocker in the old days.

Nipper Pat Daly made his pro debut at the age of 9, but that was back in the 1923 if not mistaken, and retired at the age of 17. He also sparred with Mickey Walker at the age of 15.

Current active boxers that made their pro debut early. maybe Saul Alvarez, Pacquiao and Morales.
