Not really, boxing isn't a big sport in most european countries. Europe might have improved a bit and US might have declined due to athletes going into other sports but i wouldn't call it a takeover. Also looking at global demographics europe has declined from about 20 % of world population to 11 % in the last fifty years so that isn't a good sign for europe...
