**** the Kameda bros. They piss me off and they won't be amazing anytime soon. I was a huge fan of Daiki but he isn't do **** lately. Challenge for titles against Naito? AWESOME! Lose a match and proceed to be mediocre? Not cool. Tomoki is the only one who seems to want to challenge himself.

Koki may have some match making issues but still.

      Isn't Naito retired?

I agree 100% with this post. Koki is a BUM IMO. Once he stepped up in comp (ponsalek) he lost his title. He went up in weight and started fighting bums again. He's been/being protected. He goes on Japanese variety shows and talks down on others like he's some sort of prince. Also, yup Daisuke naito is retired.

(I'm a fan of Japanese boxing, I have a Japanese wife and my daughter is half Japanese btw)

I was laughing so hard.. he was trying to challenge Kamegai again on youtube.
I wish the Soto Karass fight didn't fall through, that was the step up he needed... who knows the next time he'll get one

Considering that he is Japan's #1 boxer right now, I think it would be a shame if you didn't learn about Toshiaki Nishioka. He's my favorite Japanese boxer and it seems highly likely that he is going to face Nonito Donaire later this year so you should try to familiarise yourself with him between now and then. He's been around a long time but has risen to the top in the last 3 years. What would I recommend? His 4-fight series with Thai legend Veeraphol Sahaprom is something that anyone who is interested in Nishioka or just Asian boxing in general should watch. He didn't win any of them but he put up a great fight in their 2nd and 3rd battles. He has nothing to be ashamed of for losing two of them. Sahaprom was a phenomenal champion and had Nishioka faced someone else, he could easily have been a champion more than 10 years ago, but those 4 bouts define him, especially the 2nd and 3rd ones, in my opinion, just as well if not better than any of his victories. They're great fights.

As for his recent bouts. I would recommend watching his decision win against Napapol Sor Rungvisai (who interestingly, was trained by Veeraphol) as well as his spectacular knockout win over Jhonny Gonzalez (The current WBC Featherweight Champion) and his decision victory over Rendall Munroe. Which I thought was a beautiful display of his boxing skills. All of his title bouts are worth watching but these are the ones that stand out to me. I really like watching Nishioka. It's a shame that he's about to retire but I like the fact that he wants to go out on top.

For crying out loud.Well the good thing about Nishioka fighting Donaire maybe that Teiken will bring Kamegai too the states again and he might get a good fight this time.
