We really need to stick to face first brawlers with good chins and loads of heart.
At least Martin Lindsay managed to finally come back and score a KO win in a 6 rder after losing the British FW title to Simpson which seems like it was years and years ago now.

Corley vs Mcloskey was way better than i thought it would be but Paul is just trippin if he thinks he is world class
Pin ALL your hopes on The Jackal, he looks the nuts
That said i think Quigg is a bit better! Time will tell

forgot to say, how much of a set up was that prizefighter?
O'Kane got away with murder, and anytime anyone did anyhting to him the were warned or deducted a pt. First fight was close and coulda went either way, 2nd fight he head butts him (which opens a bad cut) and slams the guy to the ground and 3rd fight was very low blow happy (but as soon as he took one back below the belt a pt was deducted)
O'Kane is good to watch though, he's an aggressive wee ****er!

Yeah Frampton is by a long shot out best hope at getting a world champion, but his division is stacked at british and world level so he's not going to get an easy route!

Typical British ref ****ing up another fight by stopping the fight too early. McCloskey was wobbled no doubt, but ffs that's what happens occasionally during a boxing match. He was not "out on his feet" by any stretch and McCloskey has shown in the past that he has the ability to recover in fights after being hurt. It's a part of the sport of professional boxing; a guy gets hurt and is allowed to try to recover via holding, taking a knee, running, fighting back, etc. To deny a fighter the opportunity to do that, is to take the drama and excitement and danger out of boxing.

i agree he probably would've survived and it was a bad stoppage. Even worse in hindsight (i know hindsight is irrelevent) when Corley said afterwards he wasnt gonna go for the kill cos he thought McCloskey was bluffing him. And before that rd Paul was making a good comeback. It was getting pretty interesting.
But bad stoppage or not, the fight proved beyond all doubt that McCloskey doesnt belong anywhere near world level so i'm not gonna complain about the result
