I, like Rory, know Stretch from his acting career ( Dead Man's Shoes ). I'd like to know a little more about him as a fighter.
I only worked with once. I didn't know anything about him at the time. He lost in his bid for the british title to Eubank, held a regional title before that. That's all that I can tell you about him except that he was a gentleman who handled himself with class..........Rockin'
I don't recall him being overly powerfull but he could fight. We had a good mix. I do remember him telling my trainer that I hit hard. Back in the day.........Rockin'
What was your best shot? Mine's probably my left hook, not that I box much

I always liked the left hook to the rib cage, it was always a rush to hear their wind blow out of their bodies, knowing that they are going to be locked up for a few seconds and then you take advantage of the situation.......Rockin'
Hatton is cool I think as well .I don't get it though when people slate him man i've always liked him .Just wish he'd have looked after himself a bit more .I
wish he was still fighting man they big Vegas nights were quality .
Yeah, I was thinking that the other day actually. If he hadn't let himself blow up between fights so much, he might still be active today. He wasn't the greatest fighter ever, but his fights were always entertaining, and they were always massive over here.
I've always found the British fighters to have more class then most American fighters. Hatton, Benn, Eubanks, Colin Jones and Gary Stretch are all class A people. Wish we had more like them over here...........Rockin'
Funnily I've been watching the Benn - Eubank fights recently, and wondering what happened to British boxing, it seems to have gone downhill pretty massively since those kinda guys dropped off

It will turn back around eventually. Every boxing area has its peaks and valleys with the star power. One time its loaded with stars the next it's absent of stars, then it's loaded again and on and on.........Rockin'

It's more that it's gone off terrestrial television imo.

What do you make of Kell Brook? Is he the man to fill the void?

Yeah, I suppose that hasn't helped.
But I don't think we get those kind of fights anymore. I can't remember the last time there were two British fighters going at it for a major belt. Although, there are some cracking British and Commonwealth fights around, I just don't feel its the same.
Although, I guess everything looks better in the past
It's also a case of where the money is. I think if Macklin, Barker, Murray fought could be interesting.... I think also its due to a wider issue in boxing of the preservation of the 0....?
