  • Boxing/PPV in France?

I travel a lot for work and I'll be in Lyon, France during the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight.

Shot in the dark, but does anyone know of a bar or TV network where you can watch big fights?

If not, I'll just slingbox it from my house back home.

    Thanks

You cant watch boxing in France. You need to have "canal plus" to see this match. I believe they will broadcoast the match at fight am. PPV dont exist in France. Boxing is not very popular.People prefer soccer. If you have other question you can ask me i'm french

Sadly enough, it seems to me that MMA is more popular than boxing.

France hasn't really produced many marquee names bar Carpentier from what I remember. GSP is a French speaking dude and he HUGE in Canada and pretty big the states as well. Pretty likeable guy and is a true martial artist, he has appeal. I think France needs one stand out personality with charisma, a Prince Naseem type of guy.

MMA is catching on big time, im a fan of all combat sports but boxing needs to step up its game.

MMA is starting to become popular in France.

I don't really follow MMA but isn't Cheikh Kongo French ?
Yeah, Lucian Bute, Jean Pascal & David Lemieux also speak French but IMO they're considered as Canadian dudes. Currently, Hassan N'Dam is one of the rising name in French boxing. Maybe if he makes some noise he will be able to redress the interest for Boxing in France.

Nobody know Hassan N'dam in France. He can walk in the street nobody will know who he is. In 2008,France had three medals at the olympic game two of them turn pro but they need to train in America to become really good.
