I don't think this will be PPV. As much as Carl Froch is one of Britain's great world champions, fighting top level in what is probably one of the most talent-rich divisions in boxing at the moment, he lacks the the real charisma to appeal to the casual fans out there. It's those casual fans that make a PPV event a worthwhile option.

I have to to disagree about the whole charisma thing, he has it in spades just being himself.

Fair point, I just feel that where the likes of Khan and Haye have stardom that stretches further than the sport, Carl Froch is all about the boxing. Unfortunately the former is what they base PPV on, I know I would happily pay to watch Ward vs Froch!

All I'll say is that I couldn't disagree more with your sentiment.

well said old cat, Froch is an honest and up front guy, he's articulate and interesting to listen to. Just hasn't been given a platform to do so on.

David Haye / Amir Khan are hardly charasmatic guys but sky gave them a world of promotion... The best thing David Haye ever said was the beating of Audley was going to be like a gang ****, and that was only funny cos it was offensive to the general public.... Haye's lack of charisma was highlighted by the truly charasmatic Wladimir Klitschko

Give Carl a platform and you'll see he's an interesting bloke, likes a dabble on the guitar, loves his motorbikes, he's just himself and will throw a touch of arogance in there in the build up... but there's no escaping he is a real sportsman and respects his oponent, his book tells you that.

I hope it isn't PPV, general sky coverage will bring Carl the wider audience he deserves anyway.

Can't wait for the fight, was planning on going, but unless something wonderful happens to my income it isn't likely... instead think I may have a boxing night round my house and set up a casino in the living room, loads of champers etc, may even get a couple of chicks I know to dress as show girls either way it's gonna be a party, culminating in the fight being the main event
