  • Junior Witter Vs Colin Lynnes

Do u guys thinks this is a big mismatch. I not a fan of witter but he is a two levels up on Lynnes who is just British Title level not european or world.

I hope Lynnes can pull of a shock as everybody knows cover up for six rounds and after that Witter slows down thas happend in his last two fights

I reckon Witter would be too much for Colin at this stage. (With all due respect to Colin, I think Witter would be too much for him at any stage).

I'm not a fan of Witter either... But he's got skills. He's weird though, because sometimes he looks like a million dollars and then in his next fight he'll look f**kin' terrible!

i think witter will walk through him, too higher class alround, waste of a match for me, witter should be knocking on the top ten doors, arse raping DLH for a quality opponent, okay maybe not arse raping but harrassing alot

Yeah this is a mismatch and I agree, Lynes to me is a strictly British level operator who was being lined up to fight Ted Bami after they both won on the same bill a while back but I and a lot of other people thought Lynes lost his bout and funnily enough the talk went pretty quiet about that fight so it could be that his management have decided not to mess about and try for a big fight/payday while they still can and maybe get lucky cos Bami is a dangerous fighter himself so that'd be a high risk fight with little reward whereas Witter is well known and ranked highly in the world so losing to him won't be as bad as losing to the unknown Bami, that's my thinking on Lynes taking the fight but what about Witter? An easy payday is the simple answer to that I think.

We have to criticise him for this one don't we? cos he's always slagging off Ricky Hatton for his opposition pre Tszyu while talking about being the best but on the same note you don't prove that by beating up limited British level opposition at this stage in your career, Lynes is a waste of training time imo, he could do a lot better.

exactly, hes got his high rank with the governing bodies now hes just biding his time, which is wrong imo, hes beaten one fighter of note and he should be building on that, not regressing, im very disappointed with him at the minute

Colin Lynes is better than Andreas Kotelnik, he has a better jab and is the type of fighter Witter struggles against(methodical fighter who uses the jab well). He also beat Pablo Sarmiento last year and thats probably the best preparation for a fighter like Witter.

I think Witter SHOULD blow him out of there but its hard to say with any Witter fight, it just depends on which Witter turns up to fight.

I consider this a step up in class for Witter, except for the Ndou win which was OK. That says a lot considering Colin Lynes is just an average fighter who struggles at British level.

Witter better make a big step up after Lynes or i'll forever brand him a bum, remember this fight is less than a month after Cotto vs Torres, so he must have been at a decent weight and in decent condition when he turned Cotto down.

That's really saying something isn't it? And Lynes is one lucky man, we all score fights differently but I thought he lost to both Sarmiento & Gallardo and he was beaten on a tko by A Malinga (Think it was Patrick but can't be sure, there's so many of em!) so Witter's really scraping the barrell with this one but your right about Sarmiento he's a real awkward bastard so Lynes knows all about the tricky fellas but as I say he lost that one for me and Witter hits a good bit harder than Sarmiento. There's no one in Britain at 140 to match Witter apart from Hatton so to build off the Ndou win he should be looking for a top 10 ranked, respected opponent to push his claim for some sort of title shot but this is one of these dangerous treading water fights where guys can get caught out by being complacent or whatever, can't see it happeneing here though.
