Therefore, Groves would not have paid DeGale if the result was different anyway..
It was "cancelled" by the BBBofC.

But, I think we're all mature enough to realize that's bull****.

BBBofC should have no authority over a private wager between two consenting people.

Bottom line: You make a bet with someone, and you lose, you should pay up (particularly if you instigate the bet as DeGale did).

Anyone who forces a bet, agrees to it, then doesnt pay is a straight up jackass.

BTW, if this wager was made in a casino, DeGale would be legally obligated to pay Groves.

Regardless, its considered extremely disrespectful for a man to not honour a bet.

I have a very low opinion on people who make a bet and don't honour it.

adam booth, coz he was worried that groves was gonna lose and probably never get another decent payday, ran to the BBBC to make it known that the bet was not legit and that it would not be allowed to take place.
i wouldn't have paid the little rat after that.
groves/booth wanted out of it and sure as hell wouldn't have paid de gale if they'd lost, which is why they got the BBBC involved in the first place, certainly wasn't because they were so sure of beating de gale and just felt sorry for him that he wouldn't get paid.

It has already been explained, even by Groves himself that it was Adam
Booth who made sure the wager wouldn't be taking place.

As has already been said, it was Booth who consulted the BBBofC straight after the press conference. I also looked at Booth in the conference immediately after this bet had taken place, and he looked none too happy. I think he even turned down a bet with Jim McDonnell.

Moreover it does matter what BBBofC say, because they're boxing in a British boxing ring. So they hold the right to hand out fines and suspensions if people aren't playing to the letter of the law.

Fair enough but it doesnt take away from DeGale being a jackass.

Only a jackass would act like DeGale and not pay up. Regardless of the BBBofC, Booth. DeGale acted and looks like a total jackass.
