  • Groves will be a more successful fighter than Degale

Boxing skills can only you get so far in this game. Whilst Degale is recognised as the more talented of the two Groves has more desire to be successful (in my view). Groves has heart and the mentality to go far, something Degale doesn't have.

Degale will fold when the going gets tough unlike Groves. Degale comes across as a guy that thinks it's all on a plate for him, and that will be his downfall rising to the top.

Also, Groves has Booth in his corner, arguably the best trainer in Britain at the moment.

    Eubank was right on Degale..

Groves is gonna get knocked the feck out when he steps up.
DeGale would have if he hadn't been on his bike all fight.

To be as fair as possible, its too early to say. Benn and Watson found themselves in a similar situation. In the immediate aftermath of that fight and for a good while afterwards I thought that Watson was not only the better fighter, but mentally stronger. That just goes to show how wrong we can be sometimes, sure, Watson was a minute or two away from beating Eubank, and who knows where that would have taken him? but I, made the assumption that Benn was a weak bully who would fold when he couldnt blast someone out.

How wrong I was. James degale has only fought 13 times, and sure he lost, but writing off someone with that much abilty is a bit premature.

He may succeed, he may not but give the guy a break! Benn was just as ****y,if not more at the point he lost to Watson.

I think DeGale should copy Khan and head to USA. He won't improve much more under Jim and co.

I'm not sure. Adam Booth is being touted as the greatest tactical genius since the Roach by the press, but for me Groves is way, way too easy to hit. I know this sounds odd after he executed a good tactical plan against De Gale. But that plan would have been worth naught had De Gale stopped thinking he was the next Sugar Ray and thrown some leather. From my position it looked like whenever DeGale threw a meaningful punch it connected. He just didn't do it often enough.

I wish them the best in the future but I think both of them will fail when it comes to facing the best out there. James Degale will be more successful but I don't see him as a future big star. Degale will be a top 10 guy but won't go all the way and be that boxer that a lot of people think he'll become.
