Dunno what's goin on with Mitchell, but it's disappointing. Wish he'd just get back to boxing and start re-building his career, too talented to be messing about like he did in prep for Katsidis & now with this money ****.

I heard he was getting offered 30k for fighting Murray, but he wanted double that as he got 60k for fighting katsidis. Would be a big shame if he retired over that.

Mitchell really needs a few confidence builder fights to get his career on track. The Katsidis loss has hurt him mentally and has affected his relationship with Warren. Frank Warren pulled out all the stops in setting up the Katsidis fight and making it a big event at Upton Park and Mitchell did not prepare properly.

The loss to Kats has hurt his mentality. I have a feeling Murray would beat Mitchell. Mitchell is damaged goods me thinks, and Murray is a dangerous fight for him. If he doesn't pull through, I have no doubt he'll retire after the fight.

Mitchell got caught and didn't pull through, or he didn't show the necessarily survival instincts.

He was winning that fight up to that point.

I'd still pick him to beat Katsidis in a re-match.

I agree with you 100%. The pre Katsidis fight Mitchell beats Murray but right now the inactiveversion who must be in turmoil having watched his dreams been shattered could easily lose. If that happens his career is over. he needs confidence builder fights in order to see what he has got before he takes on a Murray.

Realistically, how else was Katsidis going to beat him if he didn't beat him like he did? It shouldn't be that psychologically damaging a loss. If Katsidis won it was going to be an earlyish stoppage before Kevin had busted him up.

it happens to fighters. To quote from chariots of fire - "if i cant win, i wont run," the same applies to fighters - if you cant be at the top and be a champion when your that talented, where do you turn. Look at Chael Sonnen in UFC - if he loses a rematch with Anderson i think he will walk aswell.
