I think he is a natural counter-puncher. We've seen him fight several different styles already. Initially, he was a kind of pressure fighter trying to chase some KO's. Then against McDonagh he was countering from the outside and making his man look awful which nobody does against McDonagh. Then last night he done a little bit of everything.

He's going to win big fights because he's so versatile.

        He's very comfortable.

He's probably boxing about 4 levels beneath the type of opponents who would be good enough to give him a real fight.

Ashley Theophane would give him a good workout. Anyone less than that and I'm not sure what the point of it is for Gavin. He's in the same position as Degale he's too good for most domestic fighters including Lenny Daws, really.

Big Gavin fan, saw him live at Upton Park, and finally just watched him v Lomax on FW tv, best performance yet, looked slick, defence was outstanding, agree about being a natural counter-puncher, though Lomax looked pretty pathetic too, offered nothing at all. Looking fwd to Frankie gettin tougher opposition and stepping up. DeGale & Gavin are world class in waiting, best naturally gifted fighters UK has at moment.

              He's the boy yu know!
He his first boxing gym was also my first aswell! Small Heath ABC is where he started out, then he moved to Hall Green ABC!!
He's the only Brit ever to win an World Amateur Boxing title still.

He was a bit poor against Woodhouse (an ex Birmingham City footaller), but he said he didn't feel as quick and fit, he's gonna shed a few pounds for his next fight

He doesn't belong at 147 in my opinion. I've kinda gone off him recently and been a lot more impressed with BJS.

Quality in opponents isn't as good as Gavin's, but his style was always more suited to the pros and he's finally on track. After his fight with Boulden I'd like to see him step it up, Belghecham down the line would be a great fight.

Was at the O2 for one of Gavin's fights and he looked like dog ****. Fury and Chisora's little dust up at ringside got more of the crowd's attention.

I dunno what he's on yu know. He's the Irish and WBO Inter-Continental Light WelterWeight champion... He's fighting at 147 now and looking poor, Frankie's all about the footwork and speed, but his speed has got worse in his last 2 fights IMO.
But my man's saying he's gonna shed some weight to get that speed back, meaning he's gonna go back to his natural weight, but he's mashin the gym up tryna put on muscle, and he's calling out Denton Vassell and says he wants Lee Purdys British title first.
I'm confused man, swear down Lol

Well I hope Gavin does sort himself out as he has been very average in his last 2 fights. I still think he should be at 140 and not 147 but that doesn't look like it will happen.

The change of trainer will hopefully give him the kick up the arse he needs..
