I'm OK with it. I don't like to see guys get destroyed in there.

I thought it was maybe early, Smith is a real gritty warrior. If nothing else.

Think it was maybe a little too soon for the ref to stop, but I'd be disappointed if his corner didn't pull him out at the end of that round anyway, so can't grumble.

Yeah think it was good for his long term health maybe not the best for that particular fight.

A very good win for DeGale against a tough experienced customer in front of his own crowd, but in spite of all these KOs and the Sky hyperbole he isn't a puncher. He's a bit dirty too; look how he was moving in with his head to open up Smith's cut more. I thought the stoppage was a bit premature but to be fair it was looking likely as the fight wore on.

Outstanding display by DeGale. I can't believe how quickly he's taken to pro boxing. He looks like a thirty fight vet.

Definite potential here for a top top fighter. His handspeed and timing are superb. You can tell he's watched a lot of Mayweather. His guard is very reminiscent. And he's even learned the check hook!

Throw in George Groves and we could well see a return to the days of British superfights a la Benn/Watson/Eubank.

                Happy days!
