Warren denies Hatton split claims
Promoter Frank Warren has denied rumours of a split with IBF light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton.
Hatton's contract with Warren has expired and his father and adviser Ray recently admitted they were considering offers from American promoters.
But Warren told BBC Radio Five Live he had an agreement that Hatton would box for him in the foreseeable future.
"And from my end it will be honoured. [The rumours] are disappointing, but that's nothing new in this business."
Meanwhile, Carl Moretti, vice president of American promoters Main Events, denied any deal had been struck with Hatton.
But he admitted Hatton's camp had approached them about a bout with WBA champion Carlos Maussa, a Main Events fighter.
"After the Floyd Mayweather-Arturo Gatti fight [in June], Hatton said he was interested in fighting Carlos Maussa," Moretti told BBC Sport.
"I spoke to Ricky's dad this week and we have a few things to settle. I just hope everybody does the right thing"
"We understand there are differences between Ray Hatton and Frank Warren, but that's for them to sort out.
"As I understand it, Hatton is still with Frank and we don't want to get in the middle of that.
"For now, we have Maussa's interests at heart."
And Warren said talks were ongoing between himself and Hatton's camp.
"We've had numerous conversations and meetings and I hope they'll continue.
"I spoke to Ricky's dad this week and we have a few things to settle, which we will do. I just hope everybody does the right thing.
"I've done a magnificent job for Ricky outside the ring and delivered him everything I said I'd do.
"He fought Kostya Tszyu in his home town [Manchester] when it was very difficult to get the fight on over here.
"Ricky's done a fantastic job in the ring, he's a lovely fella. His dad's done a fantastic job advising him, [trainer] Billy Graham's done a great job and I don't see why that shouldn't continue to be the case.
"Ricky's indicated that he wants to fight in November or December and there are certain things that have to be finalised."
