Ortiz has heavier hands and has more power in his punches. Amir is faster though and his punches sting more.

Khan is very FAST and does have deceptive power i mean its the shots you dont see coming that get you ....if this guy could take solid blows to his chin nothing would stop him

ortiz is a converted othodox athlete (right hander fighting as a southpaw)

his left hand (straight punch, weak hand, back foot) is probably harder than anything khan throws and it's not even ortiz' best punch

his right hook is the best still the punch at 140
i even think he hits harder than maidana with one shot because of his superior speed and timing (maidana is still the heavier puncher)

i'm of the opinion that Ortiz is a p4p puncher with that right hand for as long as he can still make 140
New England, Very interesting insight. I did not know Ortiz is a right hander deliberately made into a southpaw. I am surprised if that is the case he is not a Hagler type switch hitter. I noticed he has a lot on his right hook, your post makes a lot of sense. Khan has good power but Ortiz has exceptional power.

yeah, is one really interesting dude. but ortiz just sticks to his southpaw styles. he dosent switch at all. ortiz is a southpaw because he likes fighting in the that style.

two completely different types of puncher. Khan has superior speed and will allow him to hit cleaner and without you knowing much about it. They are stinging punches but will not put you to sleep with one or two.

Ortiz on the other hand is realy heavy handed. He hits hard with every punch and no matter where on the body it hits it will hurt. He has the ability to put you down with one punch and added to that he's a converted southpaw with a beast of a right hook mens he'll hit you clean with it alot of the time.

Overall ortiz is the far bigger puncher than khan.

He's a decent southpaw at that. Although he has a super right hook. His straight left is also a potent punch. I've seen him put people on there backs using that punch. He seems to duck down a little and spring up and over defences with the straight left from the southpaw position.

True, Ortiz has a very hard punch and if it connects on khans chin, khan will go down. Whod u say is heavier pucnher, maidana or ortiz in one punch

Do you know if Ortiz decided by himself to fight southpaw or a trainer made a decision for him ?

Ortiz hits harder and Khan has no chin.
