Actually Markussen did better against Ottke than Larsen did. Larsen didn't really take the fight to Ottke, which he should have known he had to do, since it was AFTER Markussen got robbed against Ottke.

Larsen has already been offered to fight Kessler, but turned it down. When Kessler won his title from Siaca, he was a standin for an injured Larsen, who got pissed at Palle (their promoter), for giving his chance away to Kessler. He's been trying to get out of his contract ever since. Whether he turned down the Kessler fight out of fear, or to spite Palle, only Larsen knows, I guess.
If it was out of spite, it seems pretty dumb, though, because it meant getting the title shot he thinks Palle robbed him of, only against Kessler instead of Siaca. Probably for more money too, because the fight would have been huge here in Denmark.

Oh, and Kessler against Mundine was Kessler at 80%, since he had a back injury... Wait till you see him at 100%

i saw kessler vs siaca and i was impressed very much........

i don't think he was only at 80% against mundine though...styles make fights and that's what happens...

i rate larsen very very high but i don't know if he'll fight again as it has been such a long time of inactivity....

i think a prime larsen would outpoint kessler.

Ig you knew a little more about Kessler's back problems you'd KNOW he was only 80%. There's a reason the fight was posponed from the original date. He was injured, and pushed the fight back as far as he could without having to give up the title. He was still injured though.
It was also clear to most people who have seen a bunch of his fights, that he was poorly conditioned for the fight. He took every little break he could, even when he was dictating the pace, and getting to Mundine. Normally, keeping the pressure on, is his greatest strength, and he didn't have the stamina to keep stressing Mundine in this fight.

Personally, I think Larsen thinks he'd lose to Kessler. It just doesn't make any sense to turn down a TITLE shot, that he was pissed at Palle for being "cheated" out of (he was injured, and Palle brought in Kessler as a standin), which was also the biggest payday of his career. Bigger than his fight against Siaca would have been. Bottom line? Larsen doesn't think he can beat Kessler.

The reason Kessler turned down the Green fight was because the Siaca fight suddenly came up with the injury of Mads Larsen. But hopefully Kessler and Green will have a fight in the future.
I have to say i disagree with Markussen being robbed againts Ottke. Yes Markussen did hurt Ottke a bit in the first round but after that Ottke did his usual running and turned the fight into a no action bore. And you cannot expect to get the title from an undefeated home champion when there is no exchanges of punches.
And for Larsen's reasons for turning down the Kessler fight is difficult to say since he is a hard-headed stubborn man. But a really good boxer who in my oppinion can beat at least 2 of the 4 champions.
