Last I saw Witter fight, he just quit around the middle of the fight for no apparent reason. He wasn't even hurt. He just didn't want to fight anymore...anybody remember that fight and who he "fought"? I couldn't believe it.

Was Devon Alexander for the WBC title last August and he injured his elbow, he didn't just quit for nothing.

Just read he's moving up to Welter and fighting Alfonso Gomez in a WBC title eliminator

          Devon Alexander.

Witter claimed to have injured his elbow, I think.

Thank you...I barely remember the fight, it was awhile ago...do you remember it and do you think it was reason enough to quit? Not trying to discredit the guy, but i don't remember the elbow thing. It might just be my bad memory. If that's the case, my bad.

edit; just saw your response PB...I don't remember much about the fight, but i remember i was astounded by his quitting. So is he fighting both Hatton and Gomez or just one of them? I'm getting mixed signals here...lol.

I remember Witter just swinging with haymakers so maybe he had a problem and was just trying to score a knock out but Alexander out boxing him, so not sure.

Ok, i remember it a little better now...yeah, i remember Witter being really frustrated and outboxed, and i remember my amazement, but i don't remember anything about an injury. I'm gonna go look for the fight. I gotta see this again.

Ok, i just watched the whole fight...weird....in the 1st round, witter missed a roundhouse punch and he landed on the canvas and rolled back up on his feet, but no signs at all of any injury up to the end of the 8th rd. None at all. He was getting his ears boxed off, and the ref warned him constantly about clinching, He was bleeding from his mouth and eye, and looked really frustrated.

I do not believe he was hurt at all, but quit shearly our of frustration. The commentators were equally as shocked as was the audience, because there was no sign of Witter having any injury at all. Now i know why i was so amazed.
