Was wondering what kind of fighter this fella was, his style, his strenghts?
He's from the same area as my family, so i heard alot about him from my uncle's ect when i was a young kid. But was wondering what people on here thought about him as he was boxing abit before my time.

Heard he was one of the best Britain has produced, and could have gone on to be better but he had a bit of party life-style.

Iv been trying to download a copy of his fights VS Matthew Saad Muhammad for awhile but have never had any look.

    Thanks.

Conteh is my favourite british fighter, the guy could do it all, he had one of the best jabs i have ever seen, if not for bad managment he could of been an all time great! there are some conteh fights on youtube, he was very close to fighting all time great middleweight carlos monzon in a super fight but it fell through, shame that would of been one of the fights of the 70's

My uncle said Conteh pissed away his talent with girls and booze.

Basically that he wasnt focused on his career and the fame went to his head.

My uncle is one of those bert Sugar types. Old school fight fan. But a little bit of a know it all.

(i met Conteh's son once, my ex-girlfirend was shagging him for a while, he was trying to make it in golf....thats my closet claim to fame)

Like a LH Jose Napolese. Wonderful jab, sharp combinations and the best upper body movement I've seen in a European boxer. Slightly vulnerable chin perhaps but he seemed to recover very quickly.
The man had the talent to be an atg and Britains greatest ever boxer but didn't make it.

In his prime conteh had a sound chin it was only when he was comeing to the end of his career and his life style had caught up with him that his chin stated to give out on him, plus it was in the fights against mathew saad muhamed that his chin was leting him down in, sadd was one of the biggest punching lightheavyweight of all time, in conteh's prime he would of boxed saad ears off.
