  • Question. Will more boxing be broadcast in the uk?

I just looked through a thread about boxing being broadcast in the UK and how good setanta used to be for boxing before it went bust.
A few months ago i read a similar thread about ESPN UK channel might bring back much more coverage of boxing. Is this true?
If anyone knows of any other info about more boxing being broadcast here in britain please feel free to post.

Thats too bad, it carried the sport in the U.S. for some time, I was hoping it would fill the void left by setanta.

        Sup tyson mate.

To be fair Sky's coverage is improving a little bit, i mean pre Setanta, they wouldn't have shown Vitali / Johnson.

Sky are picking up a bit more now that Setanta aren't bidding against them but they only really care about the £££ and as such most of their boxing shows revolve around the domestic scene or are in some way related to one of their PPV stars

Sky's coverage thankfully isn't too bad. Friday night fights is always on every week and they will show big fights from America ( Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hoya fights) but they miss out on so many other great fights which setanta would have shown.

Mick hennessey's contract with itv4 is ending soon, so unfortunatley the only boxing we'll get to see is Amir Khan on sky PPV.

                  Setanta was the boxing channel.

It had everyone apart from Ricky Hatton.

                    i miss setanta.

                    sky are improving.

i think it is time the bbc got involved.

they could at least pick up carl frochs fights.
