You said fighting for Ireland at the Olympics ruled him out of fighting for the Commonwealth title. It doesnt. He qualifies to fight for the title - but like I said I doubt he would fight for it - however, saying that he wouldnt be the first Irishman to fight for a British or Commonwealth title.

What you said about andy fighting for commonwealth is pointless like thats going to happen, and generally when boxers fight for the republic of ireland like andy and john duddy they dont go the british route for a european title, they just win the national title then go for the EBU belt. anyone from ireland can join the british army doesnt mean they are going too........ Andy Lee is a bum, plain and simple. He got found out against Brian Vera. As soon as he steps up again he'll be stepped on. Matt Macklin would destroy him, as would any other genuine European/World level fighters. The best thing for his career would be to chase a fight against that other over-hyped Irish fighter John Duddy. Or of course, if they plan on winning the EU title and piping it up as a major bauble, that would be the best option, taking his health into consideration. Chasing Macklin is career suicide.

I read today Lee was battering Vera.A bit preamature.....the stoppage .I seen that knockdown as well in the Vera fight.

I'm sorry, but Andy Lee as aesthetically pleasing as he is to watch has precisely zero inside fighting skills, and unless he can keep Jamie Moore on the end of the jab, he's getting torn apart on the inside.
